Buffering takes long time before playing

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a .ram or .asx file for streaming media (samples attached)
2. It takes tens of seconds or even minutes before the media start playing

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The buffering takes only seconds as with official RealPlayer.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.9.9.2 on Lubuntu, but the problem happens with Ubuntu and other Ubuntu-
variant (not tested on other Linuxes)

Please provide any additional information below.

Adjust the plugin cache size in gnome-mplayer in Edit->Preferences [Plugin]...
mplayer likes to have a little more data cached that realplayer.

Changed it to the min. value (32KB) and it didn't solve the problem much.

Then Change the other cache value on the main Preference page.

Actually, enable cache on the mplayer tab and set it to a value.

hi, enabled the mplayer cache, set it to 32KB and it now plays almost 
instantly.

That low of a value, may give you issues on some video files, so be aware of 
that.
