in full screen mode: aspect ratio adapts on-focus but not automatically #610

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. play a DVB-T movie (that starts with the Simpsons (aspect 4:3) and then wait
for advertisements in 16:9) in full screen mode
2. the aspect will stick to 4:3 until u move the mouse into the gnome-mplayer
screen (on dual head boxes) or until u press "f" twice...

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
the aspect ratio should adapt automatically...
but it needs some user interaction (but in full screen mode only... in a normal
window it happens automatically...)...

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
gnome-mplayer-common-1.0.6-2.fc17.x86_64
gnome-mplayer-1.0.6-2.fc17.x86_64

Please provide any additional information below.

I have a sample file that switches from 16x9 to 4x3 and that file works here in
full screen. If you could provided a sample file that exhibits this problem, I
can look into it. Also what version of mplayer are you using?

If you cannot provide a sample file, then providing a gnome-mplayer log maybe
enough for me to fix it.

Installed Packages
gnome-mplayer.x86_64 1.0.6-2.fc17 @rpmfusion-free
gnome-mplayer-common.x86_64 1.0.6-2.fc17 @rpmfusion-free
mplayer.x86_64 1.0-0.135.20120205svn.fc17 @rpmfusion-free
mplayer-common.x86_64 1.0-0.135.20120205svn.fc17 @rpmfusion-free

since those TV recordings r most likely copyrighted, i dont dare to give u
access to a copy... :-)

but i made a --reallyverbose log file and attached it...

these 2 lines:
 Changing window size to 768 x 576 visible = 1
ERROR: Failed to get value of property 'sub_source'.
show up immediately after the aspect ratio changes...
when the mouse leaves the full screen window, no more output shows up...

then i mentioned that gnome-mplayer always segfaults, when i quit...

Can you try upgrading gmtk to the SVN code? I think that may fix your issue. I
found a place where the size allocation was not correct in some situations (GTK
was giving me a bad value, so I correct for it).

The attached file may work for you..
