gnome-mplayer fails to play files on SFTP server #695

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to play a file on SFTP server
2. Observe gnome-mplayer not play the file

The same file plays without any issues in Totem.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
- gnome-mplayer-1.0.8 on Gentoo GNU/Linux

To support playback of files from SFTP you need to have gvfs and fuse installed 
and configured to support ssh. This is required as mplayer does not know how to 
read files from sftp.

It seems to work fine on my Arch laptop so I guess it's a problem on my side.
