latency with PBXes.org #301

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. register with pbxes.org that connects to my sip provider with trunk
2. place a call
3. latency ~12%, lost 0%

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expected output latency ~0%, and I see ~12%

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.3.7
cyanogenmod 4.1.13

Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes?
orange, Israel. if i connect through PBxes, I get the latency, if directly
to the sip provider, I have 0-3, average 1% latency (good quality).
but I can't use only my sip provider directly, because:
1. I need PBX, that give me several extensions. then I can place free calls
to between my extensions.
2. If connected directly to SIP provider, I do not hear ring-back tone
while ringing to other person, only hear the other side while Hi's answered
to me, and this is problem.

Which type of network are you using?
3G, WIFI

Please provide any additional information below.

I know that is not a sipdroid problem with a large latency, but we all need to
understand that PBXes.org isn't so good service being so depended to.
sipdroid need to know to work properly with other sip prividers to, specially
if it's
PAID provider (no lags - have their telephone adapter and it's o.k), and
rinback tone
also need to work properly.
p.s sipdroid is a best soft, and i appreciate your work, love that app,
but I don't love the PBXes.org dependence

Not sure why issue 210 has been merged into this issue as it is completely
different.
I was a contributor to issue 210, using a Nexus 1 with SIP provider Sipgate
(not via
pbxes). This si the comment I have just made on issue 210.

Just to note that one of the recent updates has fixed the ring tone issue that I
reported earlier and the sound quality is now much better. However, several of
the
fixes resulted in the called person not being able to hear me. The current
version
works fine.
This application is fantastic. I have been in the US the last week and used
Sipdroid
with Sipgate over private and public wireless networks to keep in touch with
home
daily. Each day a new version seems to come out and improve quality. Well done
guys.
I am on version 1.3.14 beta at the moment.
