i third the motion... GSM is the best choice, speex's problem is that it's a new
codec that has dodgy/inconsistent implementations.. (i can't get sipdroid to
speak
with freshtel using speex). GSM should work without problems, since 99% of voip
servers will support it

SipAgent is a reasonable interim solution, for those needing GSM. Hope this is
sorted
soon.

From what I saw in DDMS and the source, it has a problem loading a library,
maybe
they renamed it in

dlopen(/data/data/org.sipdroid.sipua/lib/libpjlib_linker_jni.so): Cannot load

Does this bug need to be relisted since it is a duplicate (332) of a duplicate
(242) of a
now fixed bug (49 multiple codec)? I imagine that many people are desperate
for this to
be fixed. I know I am.

It appears that the GSM codec works on the stock firmware (T-Mobile) on G1, but
does
not work with with Cyanogenmod and derivatives (where I have only alaw and ulaw
available).
Maybe it can be easly fixed? It would surely be great to hear it working.

This is still broken as of 1.4.4 at least on the Nexus1 phone. "stock firmware"

Linphone apparently supports GSM and doesn't lag like SipAgent, although it
doesn't tell you which codec it is
using. Hopefully competition will encourage this bug to be fixed. New version
of SipAgent being released 2nd
April, which may make calls palatable too.

Okay this is strange. I had GSM codec before. Then i did a nandroid restore and
reloaded all my apps (fresh from market)
Now the GSM codec and most others are grayed out.
Anyone have a clue what just happened?
This is on the N1
