seperatly.

Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes?
PBXes

This is happening for me too, even when I downgrade versions of sipdroid. I
can't
remember it happening before with pbxes, but it seems to be happening with
gizmo5
direct as well.

I'm using Sipdroid 1.3.14, Android 1.6, T-Mobile G1, WLAN

This same problem appears for me as well (Samsung i5700, Android 1.5). I've
tried SIP
on Fring and the result is the same. Could be an issue with Samsung. We should
probably wait for the upcoming official Android 2.1 upgrade, it might resolve
the issue.

I am running 2.1 on my Samsung Moment. Sipdroid and Fring put the audio on the
back
speaker instead of the earpeice. It works for a second sometimes and then
fails
again. I thought it might have something to do with the accelerometer trying
to
determine if the phone is upright by my ear or not like the iphone does. I
would
love to be able to make calls over wifi but it is not working good enough at
this
point. When i turn speaker phone on it stays on the back speaker but gets very
loud
and when I turn off the speaker phone it stays on the back speaker and gets
quiet.
Please help I want to use my Gizmo5 sipsorcery google voice free wifi calling
plan
like I do with my house phone.

Same issue here. Sound comes out of the rear speaker, and when set to
speakerphone it gets louder. Both volumes work and indicate they are in-call
volume. This also happns with fring and google voice on voicemail playback.

Using samsung moment 2.1 noobnl rom. This also happened on the 2.1 official
release.

Set the servername to pbxes.com on the phone, and not to pbxes.org. This should
solve your problem.

Doenst work on VF845 with or without pbxes. Still plays only earpiece. When I
connect hedset then headset is working fine, but that is not my goal.

you must also open port 5060 TCP/UDP on your router, to get the sound out the
right speaker

I have the same problem with:
Samsung gt-i5700
Android: 1.5
Sipdroid: 1.5.5 beta
Kernel: 2.6.27
About a possible problem filtering traffic, my sip phone and the pbxserver are
in the same network, without a firewall in the middle, so this is not the
problem in my case.

i did try about 5 VOIP Apps - and did find now one that hat not this rear
Speaker Problem - "Fring" - not really a solution because Voip integration
with Sipdroid of course is much nicer, but Fring seems to know a way to use the
Frons Speaker... (works with T Mobile Pulse / Huawei U8220 ) - may this helps
to fix the Problem??

Is there a white list wich Phones have no Problem using Sipdroid? May ive to
change because using Voip was a reason for me to buy the Pulse...

I am having the same issue of all calls sound coming through the speaker on the
back of my phone. It is relatively a soft. When I change the setting to
speaker phone, it simply becomes louder through the speaker.

I am using the latest version available on the andoid market as of 10/26/2010.

I use operating system 2.1.

Just an update. I think this is an issue with other apps as well. Today I
have tried sipdroid, linphone, and fring. For all of these SIP clients, the
audio plays on the back speaker.

I have the same problem on the TMO G2 using Sipgate over WLAN, but now all
audio from music player or radio apps bypasses the jack (no audio coming
through the jack) and comes through the rear speaker. Will uninstalling SIP
apps (sipdroid & GV Callback) eliminate the problem--if not is there a way to
reset phone?

Hi friends, found two working solution today:
1st option:
http://code.google.com/p/sipdroid/issues/detail?id=366&colspec=ID%20Type%20Statu
s%20Priority%20Milestone%20Owner%20Summary%20Stars#c69
2nd option: Old sipdroid 1.3.7

Samsung Intercept with Virgin Mobile, rooted with kernel from SqueelJoy 2.2.
(Instructions here: http://www.joshsamuelson.com/?p=264).

Sipdroid 1.24 worked on this setup, but I could hear my own echo quite badly
and I could not figure out how to call normal numbers (just user@provider.com
addresses).

1.3.7 worked great, fully functional. Can call from Phone's address book and
sipdroid connects the call. I'm not sure if the SqueelJoy kernel made a
difference or not in fixing the rear-audio issue.

2.0.1 with both stock and SqueelJoy kernels definitely exhibit the bug, so
something was done between 1.3.7 and 2.0.1 in sipdroid itself to cause this
problem. I don't have a stock kernel to return my phone to factory state to
test it clean.

This issue is a very common problem with alot of voip programs. I think what
needs to happen is these voip apps need to provide advanced audio settings so
you can select the audio output channel for *buggy* handsets. I have reverted
to 1.3.7 as this is the only one that works for me. ZTE Blade/Orange San
Francisco froyo 2.2 alpha (zte china leaked rom; modaco rom/s).

her @pulse to works with 1.3.7 - mhh should may be posible to route sound in a

That trick didn't work for me. Sipdroid 1.3.7. keeps playing on the back
speaker.
I just upgraded to Android 2.3 Ginger.... Installed the Sipdroid tool and it
works fine.
So I think it was a combination of the customized Froyo Rom I installed on my
HTC HD2 with the Sipidroid code that tries to resolve the right speaker (but I
am not sure).
