Callers name not shown on screen on incoming call on Nexus One. #357

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
If a callers name is known in the phonebook, it is not displayed on screen on
incoming calls on the Nexus One.

The callers number is displayed normally but just isn't linked to the
contacts.

This problem does not affect my G1 running the same version.

The version I am currently using is 1.3.14

I am able to get a Google Voice number that is in my address book to show up on
my Droid X, but others do not. I am trying to figure out what the difference is
in the address book entries that would cause this.

OK, I have narrowed this down a bit more for myself. I have certain contacts in
my address book that do show up by name with Sipdroid (I am using
Sipdroid+GV+sipgate). Contacts that have a (+1) next to their number in the
gmail contacts list show up by name when they call. All other it displays my
sipgate number. I believe the (+1) means they have more than one phone number
assigned to them.

Creating a new contact in Gmail with multiple numbers do not show up by name
when they call, only ones that had already existed. I am guessing it has
something to do with how the contact was created in the past.

I have added two contacts directly from my cell. One shows up in sipdroid and
the other does not. I can't find any difference in the two contacts that would
flag anything.......

I can also confirm this issue on my Nexus 1 with Sipdroid 1.6.1.
The caller's number is shown during an incoming call, with the text "Unknown
Name", even if the number exists in the contact list.
If I view the call log after the call, the caller's number shows for a moment
before being replaced by the name in my contact list.

I do have the same problem after the system update from google. All the caller
names new/old are shown as UNKNOWN. Is there anyway to fix this.

Same problem on droid X. Caller ID shows but contact name is not. I wish we
could get this fixed.

I made a comment above that it is only certain contacts this happens to.
