I am used to Nokia Voip quality and have only recently started to try
Android phones. I use the HTC Hero with sipdroid 1.4 and the call quality
is horrendous. (Regular phone calls sound great so it's not the phone
hardware) On my Nokia it sounds better than a cell phone call and on
Android the call is distorted, metallic and simply not acceptable. Is this
a hardware or software issue? I have tried all sipdroip codecs and even
G711 is not great. I would concentrate all efforts on improving the call
quality before doing anything else. Try a Nokia VoiP call and you'll see
that I am not imagining this. (Android phones are prettier and very cool so
I'd like to use them but the call quality has to improve).
