@BethanyG could you update the issue with some of this info including:
gah! apologies. My brain is fuzzy today. Removing the missive and adding it to the issue for review instead.
@BethanyG do you mind if I structure the issue a bit? I like to try to do this so we can start adding in some tooling within GitHub to help us with for example creating a pull request template!
@lorenanicole - please have at it! I'd love to have a template/example. That would be awesome! I had a lot of detail in the pull originally, but was unsure where/what to add. Defaulted to putting it in the issue instead of the pull.
@lorenanicole @albendz - I tried to resolve your recommendations and suggestions through the GitHub web interface, but got lost in the screens and sub-screens. Finally resorted to pulling the file down and re-submitting. Apologies.
Nice work, well done @BethanyG !
Changed the CoC language and link as well as the @channel
language & pushed an updated version.
Merging - will then accept additional pull requests/edits as needed or wanted. Thanks @lorenanicole !
@BethanyG are you going to add this into Slack then as the welcome message?
@BethanyG are you going to add this into Slack then as the welcome message?
@lorenanicole @Mariatta - yes, I'll see about doing that today (PST). Might need a quick Slack review, will send up a flare in the Slack channel if so.
Thanks @BethanyG. You can create a workflow builder in Slack so new members will automatically receive a link to the guidelines.
@Mariatta suggested we work on some documentation for members joining our PyLadies global Slack who were unfamiliar with Slack as a tool -- and with our (sort of unspoken) rules and conventions as an online community. We want new members to feel welcome & comfortable in the space -- and clear on "where to go and what to do" within

contains first pass language for a Slack new member welcome message, written by @AbigailMesrenyameDogbe.slack_etiquette.md
contains draft language borrowed (with permission) from codebuddies.org. Needs review & editing for use in PyLadies, since it was copied wholesale, and not everything is relevant to the PyLadies Slack.
