You've been added as a maintainer to this repo too!

I'd advise the following:

Open a branch
Put work on that branch
Open a draft PR to track work
When ready then turn draft PR into standard and we have the CODEOWNERS setup so I and others should get notified

I don't know who is translating Portuguese, but I did see a note on Slack that someone is working on it.

I hope it is ok to add that row for translator.

@reshamas @elenabakhtina @ks--ks - the google form is on our PyLadies global resources drive. I can give permissions to edit if you will either send me your email in Slack, or drop it here in the comments. If you would rather not do that, I can DM you a link to edit -- just ping me in the Slack channel. I'm @BethanyG there.

UPDATE: I've added each of you as editors to the forms you're reviewing/translating. You should have received notification emails for that. Since we have (in some cases) already collected quite a bit of data connected to these forms, please don't re-order or delete questions. Ping me if there are issues.

@elateifsara - I have added you to the French form, and because we did not originally have a form in Arabic, I have made a copy of the English form for you to do your translation directly inside. Please let me know if you encounter difficulties accessing or editing or need anything on that front.

The graphic should be translated. It was translated for Portuguese -- I am happy to make the different versions and save out an svg for each. I've put in a small markdown table below to help with the strings that are in the graphic. If you can't edit the issue to update, copying the strings and translations into a new comment or posting them to me in Slack is totally fine.

Please keep in mind that while I will do my best, I am not a native speaker of any of these languages, and will be copy-pasting into the graphic. We may need to do a couple of rounds.

@Marie-L and @AbigailDogbe have made announcement graphics for registering to vote, nominating, and declaring candidacy here in the communications repo. The first round of these will be going out today/tomm in English ... any desire/bandwidth for translating them so we can send out additional versions in say, a week or so?? Let @Marie-L or myself know (or feel free to comment in the linked issue). 🌟 Thanks!

@BethanyG - I have added both the French and the Arabic version. But the Arabic version is a mess because of the English words. It would be great if we could either transform those words to Arabic or if you have some trick to avoid the problem in the design part.

@elateifsara -- So sorry for the delay in getting back to you! To integrate the translations for this repo, you'll need to open a PR for them. See an example for Spanish here: https://github.com/pyladies/pyladies-elections-website/pull/40. The recommended method is to make a fork of this repo, and one branch each for French and Arabic.

Please also see instructions for localization at the bottom of the README here: https://github.com/pyladies/pyladies-elections-website for localizing and building the site preview.

Please ping either myself or @lorenanicole in Slack if you run into any issues or problems.

For the graphic, I think I have a way of separating the English words so they won't mess up the formatting -- although if you think it would be better to do a transliteration into Arabic characters, we can do that as well. I will defer to your (better) judgement. I will post a graphic here as soon as I am done with it so that you can review.

Left graphic: 😂 You didn't screw up everything just the top title of the graphic on the left. The exact text is: 1st title: القيادة العالمية 2nd title: (ست فترات مدتها سنتان ، ثلاث فترات سنة واحدة)

All of the sentences beginning with an English word needs some restructuring:

The title of the graphic in Yellow is:
العالمي PyLadies مجلس
The one that contains PSF its: PSF التنسيق مع
The title on the blue graphic is: PyLadies مستشاري

Right graphic: Also for the graphic on the right, you missed too points the 4th letter: Tech = تقنية

I just wanted to pop in and say a big thank you @elateifsara for your work in French and Arabic! We didn't actually yet get the membership registration in Arabic, so even having part of these assets in Arabic is a huge win for us!

@elateifsara -- I ran into issues while exporting the Council Graphic to SVG, and had to set the character spacing to zero and convert the text to outlines. Below are two versions -- one from Arial (the original font) and one using El Messiri. Any preference on which we should use on the site??

EDIT: Went ahead and used the Arial. Happy to push the alternate, if that one is better. Just let me know.
