Cannot Download Data Files to SD Card on Android #888

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download and install WTH_0186_Android.apk
2. Install Wagic
3. Launch Wagic

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
On the "Where would you like to store your data?" page, I was expecting to see
options for both SD card and built-in storage. Only the option for built-in
storage appears.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.18.6 on Android 2.3.4

Please provide any additional information below.
Phone is a stock HTC EVO 3D with a 32gb microSD card. Other apps can save to
and read from the SD card just fine.

Same version of Wagic installed on a Samsung S3.

Android version 4.0.4.

Expected to see the SD card and built-in storage on install. But only able to
pick the SD card.

Game unzips then fails with a storage error.

I originally installed 0.17.1 on my Samsung Galaxy Prevail with Android 2.3.5
and I did get the choice on install between internal or SD card storage. At
that time I chose SD card. When I updated to 0.18.6 using the procedure on the
Wagic download page (http://wololo.net/download: uninstall previous version,
delete core_*.zip, install from new apk; leaves existing settings, game
progress, and decklists intact), IIRC it did not automatically ask me where I
want to store the data, I assume it used my existing preference. However if I
go to the in-game menu I do only have the one option which is "Built-in
Storage". The option is not "selected" when I view the menu. Whether I cancel
the menu with Back, press ok without selecting the option, or select the option
and then press ok, the program does not (as far as I can tell) move any data,
which is fine with me because I want the data on the SD card, but it's still a
bug.

SGSIII running MIUI 3.5.17 Custom ROM.
I thought this was the issue at first. But Jellybean seems to access things
differently.
As Dansi... in #2 has suggested, I tried the older 0.17.1 version and it worked
fine.
Also downloaded the SVN 0.19.0 for PC and which works fine.
I tried updating as suggested, but this did nothing for me either.
I did however get the SVN 0.19.0 rev 4802 for android 2.3 working after
deciding to install near enough following the PC instructions.

Install the APK and let it get as far as it can, so far this fails for me at
the storage options.
Download core_0190.zip from the downloads.
Using a file browser (ES file browser in my case) find where the Wagic folder
is.
Copy the core_0190.zip into the Res folder within the Wagic folder.
Start the game again and it works.

I hope this helps some other people until the issue gets fixed.
