game freezes on Android when the phone returns from "sleep mode" #948

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. start a game
2. let the phone hibernate ("go to sleep")
3. unlock the phone again

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output is to be able to continue the game, instead the screen remains 
black until an android pop-up appears: the application is not responding do you 
want to close it?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Versio0.18.6 on android 4.1.1

Please provide any additional information below.
