Tried eliminating possibilities for the issue as per guidelines available in https://pypi.org/help/#project-name

There is a project with same name on TEST pypi and I am able to publish on it: https://test.pypi.org/project/vapi-common-client/

I found some history around it. There are 3 projects under following ticket https://github.com/pypi/support/issues/105

One of them "vapi-client-bindings" was reclaimed through https://github.com/pypi/support/issues/946

Hello, the project name vapi-client-bindings was placed in the prohibited name list by @pypa/warehouse-admins, I don't see a problem making it available again but I don't have the permissions to do so.

The other two (vapi-runtime and vapi-common-client) I think are still in "Prohibited list" Tagging @di @yeraydiazdiaz for help

@aagrawal3 the URL https://pypi.org/project/vapi-common-client gives back a 404, maybe try again? Does it work?

ShadowJonathan commented 1 year ago

Its also possible that you're using a heavily outdated uploader, I see that its getting uploaded via upload.pypi.org/legacy, maybe try it with an updated pip?

Tried again, still 400 We suspect it is because this project name is in prohibited list. Please refer to https://github.com/pypi/support/issues/3215#issuecomment-1736979945

I followed the latest tutorial (https://packaging.python.org/en/latest/tutorials/packaging-projects/#uploading-the-distribution-archives) and using "python -m twine upload" (python 3.9.6, twine version 4.0.2) to upload distributions. Is there another way? Note: same command works for other packages.

ShadowJonathan commented 1 year ago

Ah I see, maybe it works to also email and refer to these github issues?

jobingeo commented 1 year ago

@di If these packages are on the prohibited list, can you please help? I see you helped us to remove prohibition in a similar request.

@alex @cmaureir @di @dstufft @ewdurbin @FFY00 @miketheman @webknjaz @woodruffw Any news on this, or any help you could provide?

webknjaz commented 10 months ago

@mariolenz unsubscribing here too. The feedback that it's bad to spam people who's not even in position to help has been relayed in the other issue where you mass-pinged folks.
