PEP 541 Request: hordelib #3839

Open db0 opened 5 months ago

Project to be claimed

PROJECT_NAME: https://pypi.org/project/hordelib

Your PyPI username

USER_NAME: https://pypi.org/user/db0

Reasons for the request

hordelib is a library used in the backend of the AI Horde. The original creator of the package was a collaborator to the project who went unexpectedly MIA half a year ago and we haven't been able to contact them since. You can see that the repository linked from the pypi page redirects to https://github.com/Haidra-Org/hordelib where myself (db0) and tazlin have been the main contributors for the past year. You can also see it belongs to the Haidra-org github organization which is the umbrella org for the AI Horde ecosystem. You can also see other relevant pypi packages like horde-sdk are already owned by me and tazlin

Until now we had sufficient permissions through existing github actions to push to the hordelib pypi package, but today Jug's email became unverified on pypi, which prevents us from updating the package anymore.

I would like to officially transfer ownership of hordelib to me. Optimally I would like to transfer it to the Haidra pypi org, but that org is still pending approval since Jun 2023 image

So until then, please transfer ownership of hordelib to me (db0) and https://pypi.org/user/Tazlin

Maintenance or replacement?

Source code repositories URLs

https://github.com/Haidra-Org/hordelib

This is already linked as the source of hordelib. It is pointing to https://github.com/jug-dev/hordelib but that is a redirect to https://github.com/Haidra-Org/hordelib already as that repo has been moved.

Contact and additional research

Jug used to be a core member of our team until they unexpectedly ceased contact. Our attempts to contact them through all channels we had until now have not been fruitful and their expiry of their email verification on pypi is also worrying.

As I am the single biggest contributor on that project now (and with write access), I just want to cosign on the above.

If it's possible to somehow expedite this we would really appreciate this, as this situation is blocking our existing development as this package was our production version.
