always gives me the message popup about enclosure error with the download link even when running the sample project too.

I'm unable to reproduce that. Could you extend your issue report a little bit?

1) Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, ...? 2) Which Qt version are you using? 3) Is the URL http://pypt.github.com/fervor/Appcast.xml accessible from your location?
