Any plans or instructions for a french version ? #6

Hi,

Is there any plan to make a functional version of the patcher for the french version of the game ? Alternatively, is there a place where I can find detailed instructions about how to "build the patch files and alter the patch script to apply them" ? I'm afraid my limited understanding of how these patches work just won't cut it.

Unfortunately, there aren't instructions. Porting the patch to another region isn't a task that can be done without some relatively specific, technical know-how. It's easier than debugging the game in the first place, but you need similar skills to do it.

I have partial patches for all seven regions. The partial source for the French version should be in the repository. The problem is, there are seven regions, and porting the fixes is tedious and fiddly, while testing the patch is a huge time investment. There were two localizations I didn't even know about, or couldn't find originally, and I think French was one of them. So it's way behind the three European versions I knew of when I started the process.

I tried to recruit help, but there wasn't much interest. If I can work up some enthusiasm for the project again, I'll see what I can do about getting the EU versions up to date.
