Currently the CI badge on README links directly to the badge image. Updating that to link back to the action file page.

We can either do in baby steps or I can add to this PR. Your call. (but my vote is baby steps).

dont care for single or multi-step, but i was hoping you'd do it since you already figure out the segregation stuff :P

@knaaptime What exactly do we need for codecov? Can you make a list in a new issue for me to look into?
