product comparison? #93

I wonder if the developers can comment on the difference between approaches behind tobler's mask_area_interpolate and those used in deriving the GPWv4 global population dataset. I compared it over a county, and saw noticeable differences between the two. Thanks.

could you provide a few more details about the comparison you're doing? we're not familiar with the GPWv4 methods so it's hard to know what's apples-to-apples
