Addresses #15

This should allow users to more easily install through anaconda for python 2.7 environments on mac. Let me know if I should update the conda build recipe as well.

Thanks for sorting out the instructions Asher. Sure, the conda build should be consistent with our instructions.

I've also fixed the travis setup so that tests pass. The minor fix is in develop.
