the fate of the original repo #6

hi!

as it's been noted, i've stopped maintaining the original repo, which is mostly due to me not finding the time for it. but i have also kept up with some of the git issues, and noticed that you have an active fork which is properly maintained! awesome work with that, as it's highly appreciated!

i was wondering if you would be ok with me archiving the original repo, and putting a link to your fork in the description/README. the alternative would be adding you as a collaborator to the original repo, or giving you full ownership somehow, which i would be completely ok with!

also a side note, something that would be cool would be to put up a release tag for each new release of Hyprland (similar to hy3). that way you can keep compatibility with older versions of Hyprland, and keep main updated with the git version of Hyprland if desired.

in any case, keep up the great work! and huge thanks for maintaining this plugin :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey! Thanks for your kind words , I think lets maybe go with a link in the README and if people are still getting confused we can look at alternatives

I'll look into setting up some proper versioning, I didn't realize hy3 had theirs set up like this, its quite nice.

If I have the time I would like to setup automatic updates of the hyprpm.toml version pins with Github Actions.

Thanks again for the kind words and thank you for all your work on this project, it's basically the only plugin I really use and it really polishes off the Hyprland experience :+1:

alright, the README has been updated. my plan is to give it a month or so before i archive the original repo. please keep this issue open until then, just in case anything comes up!

and again, thanks for putting time into this! i hope all goes well :slightly_smiling_face:
