Why it should be included\ Socratica is a small studio focused on producing STEM-related educational content. The scripts are written by Michael Harrison (co-founder of Socratica with Kim Harrison) and acted out by instructor-bot Ulka Simone Mohanty. Their videos are well-produced and written, concise, and entertaining to watch. They also get bonus points for sprinkling in cute coding humor in just the right amount. I am older than their target demographic (high school students) but still find their content to be both enjoyable and effective at breaking down information for beginners without sacrificing accuracy.

Potential limitations\ Their first Python video was released in 2014 so it's not hot-off-the-press content. Given that the videos are geared towards foundational concepts in beginner and beginner-intermediate Python, I don't feel this should exclude it from being considered for the video resources page. They also recently announced being back in the studio this summer (latest Python video was uploaded June 3, 2021) so hopefully we can look forward to more updated content as well.

(Edit: I see on their github that they do indeed have upcoming videos planned covering Modules & Packages, Async IO, Decorators, Regex, Threads)

Thank you for the suggestion! I think this is probably a good candidate--we'll review it and make a decision.

For the moment, our consensus is that the SQL series shouldn't be included as it doesn't relate any of the information to Python. We're still debating the Python series.
