    Most of the XXX comments in inst.tex are about installation details on MacOS 9. Is it worth fixing them, or should they simply be deleted?

    I fixed the few xxx's that had to do with MacOS9. I also replaced the "running setup" paragraph, which was very outdated (setup scripts have brought up their own dialog on MacOS9 since at least 2.0). Diff attached.

    I don't have all the TeX mumbo-jumbo installed, so I'll re-assign back to you.
