The future of qTranslate (X) ? #538

Hi guys I really like this Plugin and prefer it 10 times more than WPML. I also have various projects running qTranslate. Currently everything works well, but there have not been updates for quite a long time so I wonder about future updates and Wordpress 5.0 compatibility?

Actually for me it would be o.k. to pay for it but please do not stop development. You have made some survey about half I year ago. I have donated, but nothing has happend so far.

I also have the same concerns expressed by @Blackbam , this plugin is much better than WPML. It would be good to know.

I have many site running qtranslate-x with woo, and as today it still work, but i need to know, what append, what is the next step, or the replacement.... i can pay too !

It seems this is not going to get any more updates... it is working btw! maybe when it fully breaks somebody will take care of it.

If a small team would pick it up they could make a lot of money. Unfortunatly the code is far from trivial, it just takes some time to get into it.

Is it working with latest wordpress anyone tried it ?

If it was not working, tens of thousands of sites would crash. The major disaster will happen when WordPress 5.0 is released (I guess).

We have revived this abandoned project here: https://github.com/qtranslate/qtranslate-xt/. We will transition to a new plugin soon.
