*Public profile I mean...

Same thing here. And the few times it manages to actually download something,
it's missing several hundred games.

Unfortunately, I can't really solve this. The 503 error is coming from the
Steam Community site. It doesn't happen every time in my testing, but it
usually does. It's not the program itself; when the problem occurs it seems I'm
also unable to download the file using a web browser.
I'm still looking into it, trying to find some workaround, but there might not
be much I can do.

If anybody wants to confirm, the URL the program is using to get the game list
is:
http://steamcommunity.com/id/rallion/games?tab=all&xml=1
Just replace "rallion" with your own profile name.

It seems to work on that URL for me though (changed to my own of course). But
not in the program at the same time as it is working in the browser.

The problem seems to only be affecting the XML version of the game list and not
the normal HTML version.
As a workaround, I've added a feature to allow the program to get the game list
from the normal web site instead of using the XML version. By default, it will
use this as a fallback option if the XML download fails, but this can be
changed.

Still only gets 83 items like before with either setting though :/
The profile is indeed public, so that shouldn't be the issue at least.
I guess it might be a case of me using the wrong URL though, as it says you
should use the one from the edit page, which I guess (logically, since you
can't access it) is wrong.
And the one to the main profile (http://steamcommunity.com/id/<profile>/)
doesn't seem to work either.
It does however get the categories and some (83/531) of the games/items, which
I guess it retrieves locally or something?

Boy, do I feel dumb. It just wanted the name, talk about user error >_< By URL
I interpreted it as wanting an actual URL, not just the name :x

Don't feel dumb, I entered a URL there too. Had to view this issue to see what
the problem was. The wording in the dialog is technically correct but
functionally a bit vague. Couldn't we (perhaps in the next version) make it
more clear by adding the http:// section as an unchangeable part of the setting
screen? Which would match the way the edit profile page shows it and eliminate
any confusion.

nnt042, I'm doing better than that. The next version will actually pretty much
eliminate this kind of issue. You don't have to type the name at all.
