[FEATURES] Non critical - Icon and drag & drop support #752

Open masterofobzene opened 2 years ago

Please add an icon to the app. It sounds stupid but when you pin the app to the start menu, it looks out of place, like a deleted program and makes it difficult to remember what this app is if you have many other apps pinned. imagen

Petition 2: Please add drag & drop support so we can do that with folders instead of browsing each folder.

Stopped using Czkawka as it is unreliable with dupes and its post-scan file management is not so convenient. Many things not being correctly detected (images and videos).

Better options out there:

  1. Video duplicate finder (videos and pictures) - Good usability; good results; many options to fine-tune; excelent post-scan file selection mechanics; fast; its unstable and the dev puts out new versions as beta, download the 3.0.x as it is always the latest, he doesn't update version names.
  2. Vidupe (videos only) - Excellent detection; simple; post scan file deletion goes one by one with options
  3. Antidupl.NET (pics only)- Good results; many options; blockiness detection; picture noise detection; keyboard shortcuts to process dupes.

"if you want, try them":

  1. dupeGuru (pics only) - Don't recommend this too much besides its fame, many options but low accuracy. Take it as "when everything else fails".
  2. Czkawka (if you are here, you already know it)

I've had better results and much better speed with Czkawka than dupeguru. Haven't tried the others but I will. Plus Czkawka has more options. Plus you can change the algorithm

Czkawka was even worse than dupeguru for me, and tried adjusting it but no luck. I don't like dupeguru at all. I would recommend "video duplicate finder" to anyone. Then the list is in order from best to worse f you want to try them.

Tested them and vidupe was pretty much useless and errors out to most vids, video duplicate finder did have great detection however it's icons/previews aren't so nice like Czkawka. Haven't tried Antidupl but considering you put it below vidupe I probably shouldn't

Yes, please allow for drag&drop of folders into the UI. It allows for working quicker, as I often already have Nautilus already open with the folder(s) to work on. It would also allow you to work more efficiently with performing a search in Nautilus for all the (sub)folders to scan and drag all those into the UI in one go instead of having to search and add each folder manually one by one.
