What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. поиск по ключевому слову 'паровоз'

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
попадание доков со словом 'паровозик' в 
результат

В общем, стемминг слов с суффиксами. В sphinx 
морфология также подразумевает и стемминг, 
можно ли добавить такую возможность и 
здесь?

Это можно сделать с помошью синонимов. 
Всетаки 'паравозик' и 'паравоз' это разные 
слова.

В смысле синонимы прописывать вручную?

Можно использовать специальный фильтр для 
синонимов. Только ему нужно словарь. Его 
можно вречную задать или взять уже готовый.
