I have some questions about the project. #12

Do I just need the monitor? or do I also need the power supply? How do I know if my iMac is slot-loader or tray-loader? I saw in the wiki a link to order speakers, Can I use the original ones?

For this mod to work you need a way to power some of the electronics. You can do this with the existing down converter board that is attached to the logic board. You can consider the down converter board to be the power supply in that it suplies 12VDC 5VDC and 3.3VDC.

You can try and use the original links and if the speakers are in stock then yes.

You'll know if it's a tray loader if a tray pops out of the front on order to load a CD. here is a pic tray_loader

A slot loader just has a slot where the CD goes in and is ejected, here is a pic. slot_loader
