Turns out the speed at which you click the buttons in the Mac OS 9 monitors control panel determines the range and increment of the values you get. The first time I captured these values I quickly clicked through the ranges for each setting while watching the traffic. This time I clicked, waited, clicked, waited, and the increment/step size was much smaller this time. This should allow for finer adjustments of geometry.
