virtual node files can't be backed up

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. create a vitual node file for a .rft document
2.modify the content of the document via knf
3.the .rft documnt can't be backed up

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
a backup of the original .rft sahll be created like that done for a .knt data 
file

What version are you using? On what operating system?
I am using Release_1.7.9.3 Beta 4 on win7
