Just refresh selected Feeds.
I want to be able to pick and choose which items in the feed to download or re-download and have the rules applied. Refreshing feed just downloads everything.
Sorry, can't understand what exactly you want... Rules (i.e. auto-downloading rules) are for auto downloading. You can manually download torrent from any selected article. Please explain your wanted use case.
I want to manually select multiple items in a feed, right click selection, download torrent, but have the rules applied.
Because the rules are not applied each item requires manual assignment of destination and/or category.

Why do you need it? Why can't you use auto downloading? You have some rules to distinguish your articles by some features (and set different folders for them)...
I have to ask more questions because you can't fully describe your reasons.
I do not always want to auto download everything in the feed list. Waste of space/bandwidth especially if the unwanted items are large.
There are times when I already have the item, just don't want it or feed contains items that are bad which are re-listed.
I also wanted such change in RSS Gui and found that it already asked. What it is from my view:
Auto download not working in this cases because articles already marked as read. What I thought is that I need an option to change selected articles back to unread (blue) state. Option must be something like "Mark items unread" and after marked there must be send signal to start RSS Downloader task like after feed update.
Instead of "Download" if we mark articles as unread, then downloader develop them and mark added/started articles as read again, but not downloaded (e.g. no rules exist) will remain unread (blue). We will see which one were not developed and download them manually or go and create new rules.
I think that request "Apply RSS downloader rules to manual download" not correct.
I will try to explain.
There can be multiple rules for the feed. And also there can be the case that not exists any rule for this article or even no rule for the feed at all. Rules not glued to the feed, they processed for multiple feeds trough defined searches.
Hypothetically: suggest that we press option for download one article - then application can search RSS Downloader rules and if match found then fill in fields in Add New Torrent dialog. But what if multiple articles selected and if option to not show dialog - then what?
Theoretically app can continue recursively add them but I do not like to lose possibility for manual add torrents with manual options settings.
May be for this second case add third option "Download torrent through RSS Downloader"? But even in this case there still issue - what to do with articles for which were not found any rule?
As you can see if we try to ponder solution if asked as stated in the title then no good follows. @Sada-Mio what do you think about change suggestion and title to "Add option to Mark items unread". Would it solve your issue?
Gave up on qBittorrent built-in RSS downloader. I'm using Sonarr now to automate feed DL. Everything else manual select.
Would you then change request title as I proposed to "Add to RSS option to mark items unread and recheck Downloader rules". There right next to the title you must see [Edit] button.

Just open another issue.
This will be wrong - we both essentially want the same feature, we only discuss implementation. And if we agree at this it will be great!
Currently RSS downloader rules only apply when parsing the feed automatically. If feed item is double clicked or right-click>download the rules won't apply.
Requesting feature to manually select which feed items to download and have rules apply.
