Please provide the following information

qBittorrent version and Operating System

v4.2.5 Windows 10 latest build (10.0.1xxxx)

If on linux, libtorrent-rasterbar and Qt version

(type here)

What is the problem

When trying to search jackett gives the following error: Jackett: api key error! Right-click this row and select 'Open description page' to open help. Configuration file: 'C:\Users\domin\AppData\Local\qBittorrent\nova3\engines\jackett.json' Search: 'godfather'

Also, the only search plugin that shows any results is legittorrents while I have many installed such as 1337x btbit eztv kickass rarbg torlock torrents-csv yts and zooqle.

I don't get expected results I used to get for obvious searches such as godfather, the, how, etc.

What is the expected behavior

Search results show up from all search plugins.

Steps to reproduce

(type here)

Extra info(if any)

I have already checked the json file of jackett and this problem was present before and after i updated from 4.1.3 to 4.2.5

Please help.

In my situation, which was identical to yours as far as I could tell, it all had to with some weird setting on my Arris [fiber] router that was preventing me from accessing the Jackett service when I was connected to my VPN. I'm not sure what I did to fix the issue. But, just like you, it wasn't specific to a version of qB, json/api, or python. I think it was some sort of built in protection that I'd accidentally triggered. I'm currently trying to troubleshoot duplicate results that are alluvasudden appearing the last 2 days on Jackett only, like 8-20 dupes from each search engine on Jackett. Really frustrating.

Interesting, however, I'm not using a VPN. However, I am using OpenDNS. I don't know if it is causing this but I will check.

None of my search plugins are working either, and I'm on the latest stable releases of Windows 10 Pro, Python, and qbittorrent. Jackett works in my web browser and I can see (and have configured) the Jackett API key and URL in the Jackett files, in the plugin directory. No VPN here but running Simple DNSCrypt. Disabling it does however not seem to have any effect at all. No other search plugins seem to work either, and the execution log doesn't seem to register a search.

I am having the same issue ... I have installed Jacket as a service on my Linux(debian based) I can access the Web UI alright ... I have grabbed the API Key from the Web UI and updated the jackett.json file ... but the api key error persists ...

My qBittorrent Version is 4.2.5

I don't have this issue any more as I switched to Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and am running an outdated snap version 4.1.7. I would actually suggest downgrading if you can. I am still using a DNS but there is no issue.

FranciscoPombal commented 4 years ago

@DominikAgejev Do not suggest downgrades as a solution please, when clearly the problem lies somewhere else. It works just fine for lots of people, so downgrading prevents either of a) finding the problem in your setup or b) finding the potential bug that is causing problems with your (correct) setup.

any diagnostic commands that'll will shed light on the problem faced on the affected setup ?

FranciscoPombal commented 4 years ago

@aiamuzz

Not really, sorry, I don't use Jackett myself.

luzpaz commented 1 year ago

Can anyone still reproduce on latest stable with latest search plugins ?

jmn319 commented 11 months ago

Yes. I am experiencing this issue on both ubuntu and raspbian. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

luzpaz commented 11 months ago

@jmn319 please paste the full About info on each distro you tested on

jmn319 commented 11 months ago

@luzpaz thanks for the response. See below for the distro info. However, upon further review, I think this issue is related to running search in the web ui. I was ultimately able to get this error resolved, but now I just get connection errors. Probably related a different issue entirely.
