Out of curiosity, why would you want to do this only at the BitTorrent client level? It is trivially easy to add/change DNS servers at the system/network level on both Linux and Windows (don't know about macOS, but it should be easy as well). I would assume you'd want to use a decent DNS that actually resolves all domains for all applications in your system, not just for your BitTorrent client.
Alternatively, you can use a VPN that supports custom DNS and split tunnelling and map qBittorrent to that interface, and have the rest of your traffic go through the regular network interface.
But then again, the VPN alone likely solves whatever issue you are facing, and I don't see a reason why you wouldn't want this system-wide.
I am looking to only have a custom dns in qBittorrent because, my current dns works fine for everything outside of this current scenario. Also, when i have changed my system dns it has broken some custom/local services so, that's another reason why i only want a secondary dns for qBittorrent.

So developers should waste their time building custom (and questionable) features for you because you don't know how to configure your software?
Can you please add the option for a secondary DNS alongside the default system one, like BiglyBT offers. That way if the default DNS fails to resolve the tracker due to isp blocking or other reasons, the second one will resolve it.
