After changing the number of asynchronous I/O threads to 4 and restarting the application, the usage stays as low as expected. It's the same problem as in issue #13530, so I'll close it.
Same issue, running on Windows 10 Qbittorent 441 High CPU always around 40% VPN through Windscribe PRO, tested on multiple connections, all fail i only have 40 torrents, if i compare it towards TransmissionBT that runs around 1-2% cpu with same list of torrents
Just changed the I/O threads to 4 will be watching the system now, after 5 minutes cpu is back to normal, make sure if the update package has this by default ;)
Some of the high CPU use may be due to a bug when using a VPN... High CPU usage when using a VPN https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/14223
Same problem here Qbittorrent 4.4.2 windows 10 300+ torrents SSD disk High CPU , VPN provider Windscribe change the IO threads as indicated but did not resolve the problem When i disable the VPN CPU goes back to 1-2% I can add more info if required, my previous update is now broken and the workaround no longer works
I can attach a procdump if required, size is around 1Gb
qBittorrent & operating system versions
qBittorrent: 4.3.9 x64 (and x86) Operating system: Windows 10 Home 21H2
What is the problem?
The CPU usage is constantly very high, around 40% no matter if its GUI is open or it is minimised.
Steps to reproduce
Open it and after a few seconds, CPU usage surges.
Additional context
The problem occurs both in the 32bit and 64bit version, both installed with the installer, with torrents running or not. All settings are the default ones.
