no moving files , cause of owner:group is root:root #17477

qBittorrent & operating system versions

qBittorrent: 4.4.1 x64 (snap appimage) Operating system: ubuntu 20.4.5 x64 Qt 6.23 libtorrent-rasterbar: 2.0.5.0

What is the problem?

I bought a new hhd. I formatted hdd with gparted wich give the right proprietary to root:root I didnt notice !!! normally , is toto:toto So through , qbittorent , I order to move all the file from my old hdd to this new one qbittorent accept and change the location but no move files !! cause of root: root hdd. I didn't have warning or alert. I solved with chown toto:toto /mymedia ... change the location in qbittorent to the old hdd and again to my new hdd path and it works !!!

You could just give right ownership to directory and restart qbittorrent.
