qBittorrent & operating system versions

qBittorrent: 4.4.5 x64 Operating system: Windows 11 Pro 22H2 10.0.22621 x64 Qt: 5.15.5 libtorrent-rasterbar: 1.2.17.0

What is the problem?

Every item added, whether via magnet link or torrent, stays at 0%. Magnet links remain in Downloading Metadata status; torrent links remain in Stalled status. ALL trackers show as Not Contacted Yet. Problem exists in every version of qBT I have tried, including newest beta. Restarting qBT does not help. Changing to new random port does not help. Rebooting Windows SOMETIMES fixes it, temporarily.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Add a new download.
  2. View item's status.

Additional context

qBT is bound to PIA interface, which has no issues.

Could you try to disable encryption?

dalepmay7 commented 1 year ago

Could you try to disable encryption?

Just tried that, restarted qBT. No change.

Probably, the problem is in the interface, the client simply does not have access to the Internet. DHT nodes show zero, right?

Yes, DHT nodes are zero.

Update: Don't know what it was, but I reinstalled both qBitTorrent as well as the PIA client, most recent NON-beta versions for each, set all settings back the way I had them, and everything works. Might as well close for now, unless others still have this same issue.

wildman9x commented 1 year ago

okay so when I updated to 4.4.5 I notice that the speed limit had been automatically set to low here and my friend had the same issue as you image

When I told him to click on the speed limit toggle and turn it back it worked as normal, have you checked that? image

FokkusuES commented 1 year ago

I have the same exact issue, but nothing I did fixed it, only going to an old version fixed it for me, which is 4.1.9, I haven't checked every single version though so is possible than a more modern one would also work but yea I just wanted to let you know.

Same here. I have had run into this issue at least 3 times in the past year, every time I encounter this problem the only thing I can do is reinstall qBittorrent and the problem goes away. But after using it for a period of time (long or short, inconsistently) the problem always reappears. Has no ideas what has been causing it but there is a clue. If I reinstalled qBittorrent without deleting its configuration files, the problem will still exist even after reinstalling, once configuration files have been cleaned, every thing works fine again. So I suspect that it is probably some problematic configurations caused this issue.

in my case I haven't updated yet at all and its working fine so maybe that works for you too

For me works choose any interface in advanced settings

akavkl commented 1 year ago

Delete C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\qBittorrent QBitTorrent has had this issue for ages.

thejeff77 commented 11 months ago

@akavkl thank you! This is the only thing that worked for me. I reinstalled 2-3 times, and even installed an old version.

This happened when I upgraded to 4.6.1, and I tried changing the interface and googling around for a f***king hour.

I dunno why everyone voted that down. Shame on you guys. Thanks for the fix.

armishmajerj commented 10 months ago

@akavkl this worked for me as well and I have tried many things in the past to fix it
