It will be possible to change colors in 4.6.0 (not sure about background). 4.6.0beta is already out if you want to try it.
Thank you, that’s wonderful! Will it also be possible to change any other font attributes, most notably boldness and font size? These two, along with color, make a significant difference for a great many people. I should have mentioned them at the same time, my oversight.
But don’t get me wrong, even making one setting such as color available is a huge win! Many will be very grateful indeed!
Have a blessed day!

Sadly no.
Fair enough, one thing at a time. 😊 Looking forward to whatever you are able to make available. If there is any way to include background color, then a person could set a black background with white or bright yellow, cyan, etc. for the fonts. I think many would find such a setup quite readable, each person adjusting for his/her own best vision.
Thank you so much for doing this!
This should be a priority, imho
Suggestion
Greetings! I have never posted here before, so I hope I am posting in the "right place".
I have read various discussion bits about making it easier to change selected colors, primarily font colors, in qBittorrent. I am not here to beat a dead horse. Nevertheless, it is true that many people experience impaired vision, in many different ways and to various degrees. If the developers of this (or any) software product wish to include such people in a friendly and accommodating way, then they must provide those users with some manner of quick and easy way to modify colors, font colors at first, then more generally foreground and background colors along with font colors. There is simply no way to design a single theme, or a set of themes, that will accommodate all people. And honestly, the vast, vast majority of users are not now and never wish to be coders in any form or to any degree. Some programmers may not like this, but it is and will remain true. So those of you who write and maintain programs such as qBittorrent have a choice: you can embrace visually impaired users, or not. So far, I see that years have gone by and nothing in this regard has been done. I do hope you will reconsider your apparent position in this regard.
Thank you for listening.
