What is the problem?

Sometimes, some of the RSS feeds fail to fetching new entries, which the site icon left to the feed name became an infinity symbol(∞), try to update it manually but nothing change, immediately output a log: Failed to download RSS feed at 'RSS-FEEDS-URL'. Reason: The operation was canceled [These affected RSS feeds were all updated properly at first] Meanwhile I access the feed url using chrome's Incognito Window, can get the full XML file successfully. Both My qBittorrent and Chrome broswer access the feeds url directly (no proxy). I didn't find a procedure to reproduce the problem at the moment, but the problem is recurring. Though I can't provide the feeds url since it's from the PT sites, I'm pretty sure this isn't a problem with the RSS feeds' server. The only solution I can find at the moment is quit qBittorrent and re-launch it. I suspect that when doing a high load download task, if qBit is automatically updating the RSS at that time, it is prone to the problem described above, and once the problem occurs, the affected RSS can only be reloaded properly by restarting qBit.

Often one screenshot describes it much better than a hundred lines of text.

This one message is not enough to try to diagnose the problem. It is required to see all RSS related messages starting from the launch of qBittorrent (or at least from the start of the last successful update of RSS feeds).

Same problem I just downgraded back to previous version for now and have a working RSS feed. RSS feed would not update at all it was unable to read the RSS Feed no matter how many times I told it to refresh.

sure I went back and tracked log before update when it was working and the next log where it was not working.

qbittorrent.log.bak44.log

No error message just not reading any new articles from RSS Feeds. There is a single download that I manually started showing in this download but RSS completely 0 new articles for them all.

BTW I would advise log always shows version because almost none of the logs showed version so I had a hard time finding log where I had updated and found it did not work for me.

@molitar I can't find any problems according to provided log messages. It looks like everything is going as usual, RSS feeds are successfully downloaded, parsed, and add new articles when they are detected.

I removed the extraneous records. Wanted to bring up again that RSS update failures are more likely to occur when doing high load downloads, and if there are no download tasks, running for 10+ hours won't fail RSS updates. By the way, I set the RSS update interval to 10 minutes. Btw, the same thing happened in the previous version v4.5.4.

Looks like you overdid it. I understand that you may have wanted to keep the feed URLs secret, but you could at least give them some names so that it would be clear which messages relate to which feed.

qbittorrent1.log I re-uploaded the logs. In this log qBit has not been restart, you can see that some RSS feeds failed to download between 2023/9/7 21:07 and 21:51(at least), but all of them download successfully after 2023/9/8 3:17, which coincidentally is a time when qBit has only very little download traffic.

The thing was there was some new articles they were not retrieving the articles. I manually checked and there were several. I downgraded back to 4.5.4 which I am using now and RSS feeds are retrieving and downloading fine with it.

AFAIK, nothing has been changed in v4.5.5 that could affect this.

How do you detect it?

FYI, there are some RSS feeds that have issues with article identifies so qBittorrent may have troubles with detecting new articles in them.

We have the same problem on MacOS. I am not sure about but it could be because I always set to sleep on my Mac.

Same issue with v4.6.4 lt20 qt6 x64 Win11 client. My RSS feed is set to auto update every 5 minutes but it suddenly stopped updating. Logs show the reason was: "The operation was canceled". I tried to manually update three times, but got the exact same error, which can be seen near the end of the logs. Went to the RSS feed URL in my browser and the file downloaded just fine so it's not the RSS feed itself. And restarting the client fixes the problem with the feed downloading fine. Logs below are sanitized of identifiable info and specific torrent info.

FWIW, I changed my binding IP address from "All addresses" to "All IPv4 addresses" and the problem hasn't occurred again.

Edit: Just kidding. It's still happening again. Going to try selecting 127.0.0.1 specifically and see what happens.
