[Wishlist] Prevent checking on seeding/completed torrents #21342

Suggestion

I would like to be able to prevent qbittorrent from checking my already completed and seeding files.

Use case

Checking hundreds or even thousands of files after every startup, as qbittorrent likes to do, takes a lot of time and puts a lot of stress on the hard drives. This seems to be redundant for files that have already been completed.

As I understand it - there are two (2) types of checks.

  1. When we start the client: Check if the files in every torrent exist at the chosen location.
  2. If not put the torrent in "download" and do a more throughout test of what you have (re-check) - compare to make a new torrent- that's take a serious time compared to check if the file(s) exist

You may by accident removed or moved some of the files while the Qbit was shutdown.

I agree. And many times when I changed some file location or deleted files of completed torrents, then qbittorrent can take over 30 minutes to complete the check, especially on an external 2TB HDD. It's really a useless check that makes no sense for completed torrents. It's actually a bug, imo, not just a bad feature.
