I'm having a similar issue. I cannot configure magnet links, they are already associated with qBittorrent but the dialog offers no options to associate with alternative clients. Using Qbittorrent 5.0.1 on Windows 11 24H2 (10.0.26100.2161)
A few screenshots for reference:
Clicking the .torrent row: (popup dialog ok)
Clicking the MAGNET row: (no 'Suggested apps' or 'More options' to choose an app from)
they are already associated with qBittorrent but the dialog offers no options to associate with alternative clients.
So what's the problem with qBittorrent? Seems like no other client has registration as magnet handler.
You are right, I confirm that no other client has registration as magnet handler (I checked uTorrent, and Deluge clients). So, it's not a problem with qBittorrent but with the other clients. Thank you for your reply, which helped me realize that.
I had the exact same problem, but it works fine on Windows 11 22635.4435/qBittorrent 5.0.1. I think one of the updates fixed this. There was no option to open magnet links at all in the Settings app when I had the problem.
qBittorrent & operating system versions
Qbittorrent 5.0.0 Windows 11 23H2(22631.4249)
What is the problem?
Web Magnet link not working. App associations in Windows Control Panel only work with .torrent extensions and cannot be configured for magnet links.
