And since the upgrade to version 5.0.0, searches in the application no longer work. I think this is because it offers to install the old version of python and not the latest one.
I did a copy/paste into a .txt of the preferences file because sending was impossible in its original format.
This should not be an problem for an application installed on the system. An problem with magnet associations may be the portable mode of the application. For this purpose you can change the associations through the registry: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\magnet\shell\open\command Edit the default value and put there the path to qbittorrent.exe
Thanks for your answer. I found this "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\magnet" but it doesn't go any further. There are missing folders "shell\open\command" So what do I do?
qBittorrent & operating system versions
qBittorrent: 5.0.0 x64 Operating system: Windows 10 Pro x64 (22H2) build 19045.5011
What is the problem?
Unable to launch a magnet. The URL:Magnet protocol is no longer in the list found in the win10 settings. I then go to "set default values by application" where I find qBittorrent, the torrents are associated but not the magnets, next to Magnet it says "choose a default application" I click on it and there it says "no application is installed for this type of file or protocol" and only leaves me with the option "search for an application in the microsoft store"
Steps to reproduce
I don't know how to reproduce the problem because one day the magnets worked and the next day they didn't. Why is the URL:Magnet protocol no longer in the protocol list? I don't know. Maybe a Windows update? It might be interesting to put the choice of associations with torrent and magnet back in the application settings because it has disappeared and it would be very useful to me at the moment.
