One fatal bug found and requests #383

Closed zzxx closed 11 years ago

zzxx commented 11 years ago

I've already downloaded 7% yesterday, but today I tried to continue to download the rest part. My God! qBittorrent downloaded from the beginning 0%, the yesterday's 7% was discarded. What a terrible software qBittorrent is? Please kindly help to check and fix this fatal bug!

Furthermore, may add a button for selecting file-saving forder and download speed diagram? Many thanks!

Can you check what is the save location in the torrent details(in the general button)? Is it the same that you had previously selected?

Furthermore, may add a button for selecting file-saving forder

Do you mean a dialog which lets you choose where to download the torrent? If yes, this is already implemented. Go to Tools->Options...->Downloads and check _Display torrent content and some details_

download speed diagram

Do you mean a graph that shows the download speed over a time period? If yes, please open a separate issue for this. It is far easier for us to track issues by headline, and it is important that they contain only one issue.

Also what is you OS and which version of qbt are you using?

1) I found the problem occured maybe because the part of file was downloaded by other BT softwares previousely. I wanted qBittorent to keep downloading the rest part. But, even I force re-checked it by qBittorrent at first to continue downloading the rest part, qBittorrent will not recognize this file after restarting qBittorent. Of course, I changed extension filename to .!qB in the very beginning. Please check your "force re-check" function.

2) Different file should be saved in different forder. I need a button for selecting forder on add task menu, please.

3) Yes, please refer Bitspirit's top speed graphic bar, so friendly design. Thanx!

It shouldn't matter if it downloaded by other BT software. Why did you change it to !qB? You should leave the files as they are(unless you are 100% sure that qbt recognised them with that extension). Could you attach these 3 screenshots:

  1. Showing the torrent details in the "General" tab/button(located at the bottom of the window)
  2. Showing the torrent details in the "Content" tab/button(located at the bottom of the window)
  3. The folder which contains the files. (you can partially blur out the file names but not entirely)

2) Different file should be saved in different forder. I need a button for selecting forder on add task menu, please.

In the "Save torrent dialog" open the dropdown menu and select "Other..." (the last item in the drop down menu)

3) Yes, please refer Bitspirit's top speed graphic bar, so friendly design. Thanx!

Open a new issue and maybe attach a screenshot.

I changed filename extension to .!qB at first, then did "force re-check" function to make qBittorrent reconizing it. After qBittorrent completed "force re-check", it did keep downloading from 6.1% and go on for a while to be 7%. I shut down computer at night. Next morning, I turned on computer and restart qBittorrent, then tragic came out; I lost the file and qBittorrent downloaded from 0%. I, believe me, didn't do nothing else to change option. I've tried some BT softwares such as utorrent, BitSpirit, BitComet and Thunder; all they could exchange files among them to download the rest parts with manual or automatic force re-check function. qBittorrent is the first software I failed it. I need to do so sometimes because I transfer files between two computers and among 5 BT softwares for trying speed among them and some other reasons necessary.

Furthermore, I found many Blocked IPs in Execution log. I didn't block any IP at all, but qBittorrent blocked IPs for me automatically. I don't want it. Please free me and don't block IP.

I'll post a screenshot in new issue asap. The the dropdown menu is not a good idea because it will be longer and longer after keeping more and more save forders recoreds. I do not need so many forder recoders garbige.

Thanks!

attach image not worked?

sledgehammer999 commented 11 years ago

There are other reported bugs similar to yours, but I cannot find them now.

Furthermore, I found many Blocked IPs in Execution log. I didn't block any IP at all, but qBittorrent blocked IPs for me automatically. I don't want it. Please free me and don't block IP.

Tools->Options...->Connection and uncheck IP Filtering

Anyway, could you upload the images I asked? Enable javascript and it should allow you upload the images. Thank you.

IP Filtering was uncheck, but still blocking some IPs.

IP Filtering was uncheck, but still blocking some IPs.

Then those IPs are sending you bad data on purpose and are blocked automatically. There is nothing you can do about that.

Sorry, I've transfered all files to Bitspirit and Deluge for downloading the rest parts so deleted all files from qBittorrent aleady. Thanks for your kind attention and help!

Closing because I cannot further troubleshoot it.
