Torrents always in queued, not starting #8102

Closed wind77 closed 2 years ago

Please provide the following information

qBittorrent version and Operating System

qBT v4.0.3, W7

If on linux, libtorrent and Qt version

(type here)

What is the problem

My setting: maximum 10 active downloads. When using qBT 3.3.16, if the top 10 torrents are stalled, the app would start 11th torrent and above. However, in qBT 4.0.3, if the top 10 torrents are stalled, all subsequent torrents would continue to be on queue, and no download happens.

What is the expected behavior

if the top 10 torrents are stalled, the app should start 11th torrent and above.

Steps to reproduce

I've noticed same behavior. Also torrents are stalling for unusually long period of time.

wind77 commented 6 years ago

Just noticed: if u have 10 torrents stalling, even the completed torrents also cannot begin seeding - they also have to queue.

RicardoCapricciosa commented 6 years ago

I have the same problem, all my torrents (around 100) which previously were all seeding fine at once are now queued, except 20 or so. It does not matter to reset the share ratio limit (tried it multiple times) or manually starting them, they start to seed for a second and then are queued again. I'm on win10x64 with v4.0.3

Finally I found someone with the exact same problem as myself. Win10x64. qbittorrent 4.1.0 (64) I have tried to port forward, DMZ and even bypassing my router. Disabling antivirus, malware protection, firewall in windows but no, I can't seed. Only time I'm seeding is when I'm downloading a torrent, then it seeds fine, but as soon as it finishes the download the seeding crawls to a halt. When I restart qbittorrent it seeds for a couple of seconds and then crawls to a halt again. I have tried turning UPnP on/off in router and qbittorrent... well, I have practically tried every tip possible from Google ;) The "outgoing" arrow never turns green, it stays on yellow no matter what I try. Sure I can download fine but I want to "give back" something as well :( edit Installed another torrent-client and tried it. Everything worked fine, after the torrent finished it kept seeding. Tried it's built in test and that showed green lights all around for my network. But it's uninstalled now, it tried to install other software.... hate that!

Also getting this. Torrents won't rotate.

thalieht commented 5 years ago

@dessalines i assume you're talking about seeding torrents because it doesn't make sense to me to rotate downloading torrents, unless of course you're all talking about the "Do not count slow torrents in these limits" option, in which case i have no idea why it may not work. I think rotating queue is handled by libtorrent. For me, some torrents are always in queue because libtorrent decides that other torrents need to be seeded more https://www.libtorrent.org/manual-ref.html#seeding-queue. On another note qBt doesn't have options to change https://www.libtorrent.org/reference-Settings.html#seed_time_limit and https://www.libtorrent.org/reference-Settings.html#share_ratio_limit so the defaults are used.

The "outgoing" arrow never turns green, it stays on yellow no matter what I try.

@LustigKnorre maybe it's bad design but it's not supposed to turn green, it's just a different color icon from the downloading one.

Closing this as this was reported on a very old version. If you can still reproduce it with latest version please comment to re-open the thread or create a new thread.
