It seems that the problem is in the .py
plugins file itself. in my case after delete tokyotoshokan.py
plugin, error fixed.
check this folder ~/.local/share/qBittorrent/nova3/engines
Still cant install search engines. Updated to Python3. Any suggestions?

Try to navigate to C:\Users\YOUR USER\AppData\Local\qBittorrent\nova3 and rename engines to something else, quit qbit and open it again, try to install the search plugins again.
Found a fix, With qBit closed, went to "%localuserdata%\qBittorrent\nova3", renamed the "engines" folder to "engines1", reopened qBit and managed to drag-drop all the engines from the old folder straight to the "Install search plugins" window and they got installed.
now and first so many thxs dear denkiryu i've a portable vers. of qbittorrent so i've no :%localuserdata%\qBittorrent\nova3", is in: G:\back up 29.04.2010\C\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Dati applicazioni\qBittorrent-4.5.2\Data\settings\LocalAppData_qBittorrent\nova3\engines and doing whta you suggest...so clocing qbittorrent rename the folder and doing whta you clearly described unfurtunately don work...:( where is my fault? i always get extension not supported......
I just went back to version 4.4.5 and all plugins work again. Tried everything. Had to do an uninstall that deleted everything, so made a backup (via pictures just to avoid any file causing the issue) of all settings.

Hi,
I can't install any search plugins, when I paste URL or local directory and hit "OK", nothing happens. No error, no information. I'm running qBittorrent as an App in TrueNas Scale Dragonfish 24.04.0
