Contributing file has multiple changes. Too much to list.

Conflicts fixed and document updated. Please review. Have someone test and create an issue if something is missed including anything Mac specific.

After this PR is merged I'd like to designate 2-3 people from the group to test it. Preferably someone that doesn't know git well.
