Oops. Trying to use GitHub via Chrome on iOS. @heflinao, do you want to steer the location search?
Should have added that @janders223 offered to check with Top Gun to see if they'd be interested in hosting.
@rcayabyab what were you thinking for location? Checking with Art Academy / CAC? I can also check with UpTech/NKU/Cintrifuse/VOA Center if we'd be interested in any of those.
@nieyka i was thinking art academy or maybe cac.
@janders223, top gun may be legit too. we may be able to pull in more dayton people.
I've been trying to organize a space for this event. I've spoken with DAAP (which was too expensive), and I'm currently speaking with Top Gun and Apex (which I've heard have awesome training spaces). Apex is wanting some information about the itinerary of the course, while Top Gun is checking with the rest of the company before they give a definitive answer. Apex is interested in (and has suggested a partner company Yuxi Pacific) speaking at the course, but I don't know how that would really work at this point.
We can use the Art Academy for free since it is tied with the AIGA. If you'd like, we can set up a time to walk you (guys) through the lecture hall that we normally use for events like this.
The black box in the CAC was another thought.
I'm of course open as far as the location goes but I am worried about having it up in Mason. It could cut off some NKY people, but it could draw some Dayton people.
So, Top Gun has officially said they would be willing to let us use their space. They just want more details about what is going on and when we actually want to have this, which I don't have the answers to.
But I'm not opposed to the Art Academy or CAC, I just need to know if anyone has a very strong preference on where we have this.
@nieyka They are offering the space for free. I thought we were planning for Saturday(s) in late May - Mid June, but that might have changed. I'm not 100% sure if we are doing 2 back-to-back saturday classes, but I believe that is the intention.
Adding @sroufebecky for the call today
Confirmed with @rcayabyab - the AAC is available and we can use the lecture room (fits ~100, has projector available) as well as the nearby breakout rooms for the design/dev sessions. AIGA is also interested in sponsoring morning food/drink but we need an official headcount for attendees.
Moving discussion of location search from Issue 9 to here.
