I have found out that problems to write to a FGDB layer with the Lable toolbar is because GDAL is outdated in version 3.30 on macos. The same operation works with windows 3.30 and the same data. example: change font size on a selected feature from FGDB source using the

Do anyone now if and when the inner workings (like GDAL) on Qgis for mac is to be updated?

@eflaten I think it's worth bringing this question to the QGIS psc, via the psc mailing list ( https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-psc ). The mac builds have been neglected for a long time and a project-wide rethink is necessary.

@nyalldawson I will do that. Thanks for the tip!

If this has not happened yet I can write the email; the latest release has GDAL 3.3.2 (9/2021) and the latest one which is required for several features to work correctly is 3.7.0 (5/2023) @nyalldawson @eflaten

@dawgermany @eflaten do you know if there is any progress to update the *.dmg GDAL to a more recent version? Unfortunately the outdated GDAL 3.3.2 is becoming more and more a problem for us.

What I do is using the new "experimental" installer: https://github.com/opengisch/qgis-conda-builder/releases Its up to date and even if I use term experimental, the installed app is stable and I guess as good as it can be with fresh GDAL and other internal components. Just get it right now :)

@eflaten thank you. This works like a charm, I will recommend this our macOS users!

Seems to be a hidden way to get 3.36 as LTR ;-)
