Option to not flash feature on selection #30618

I'm running 3.8.0-Zanzibar on Windows 10.

Every time I select a feature/several features (using the "Select Features by Freehand" tool) on the map, one of the features will flash red twice - this is seriously annoying (especially when selecting large polygons) and slows down my work flow as I look away and wait for it to finish flashing. The previous version of QGIS that we were using didn't do this and we haven't found a way to turn it off.

Please provide an option to turn off the flashing of features on selection.

I think this was a bug and has been fixed by now. probably somewhere in 3.10 or 3.12
