Do you have an example file (a link maybe)?

geofffox commented 5 years ago

Since I use these locally, I've placed a few in a Google drive folder. Otherwise it's a moving target as files are added and deleted over time. These are from the HRRR weather model. The domain is around the Continental US.

Thanks for your help. Geoff

Hi @geofffox What version of QGIS are you using?, ok, let me check 3.8

It works fine with my nightly (master).

Works fine in QGIS 3.8 too: image

geofffox commented 5 years ago

My crash came when I attempted to move the domain (with the hand icon move the map).

However, QGIS crashes more than any three programs I use. If it's stable for you and not for me -- well, obviously that's concerning to me.

@nirvn here is the ticket related to the mesh issue. I think it is due to size of mesh. This is from one of the datasets I opened:

nirvn commented 5 years ago

@saberraz , have you been able to replicate the crash?

nirvn commented 5 years ago

@geofffox , if you want to provide a valid stack trace which can help narrow down the cause of the crash, you can install qgis-dev as well as it debug symbol package (~450mb) using the osgeo4win installer.

saberraz commented 5 years ago

@nirvn no, it works fine for me, a bit slow (takes up ~ 2 GB of RAM) but works fine.

nirvn commented 5 years ago

Working fine on linux over here: Screenshot from 2019-09-16 14-48-02

PeterPetrik commented 5 years ago

on Mac it does not crash, but it raises this window and it loads just first timestep

saberraz commented 5 years ago

I think it contains only one time step.

PeterPetrik commented 5 years ago

in that case i do not see anything on the canvas (white), but I see all the groups
