Feature description. Allow for Meter distances on Geodetic layers while using the Points Along Geometry tool.
Additional context Whilst using QGIS for data management in a long distance cable lay project I have come across the issue of generating new KP points along the as-laid path. While QGIS can do this with the Points Along Geometry, it unfortunately can only do so on Projected Layers, meaning we've had to utilise external products to do this in Geodetic (Global Mapper and AutoChart both have this facility).
(As a side note, I have tried using the QChainage plugin for this, and while it seems to allow the functionality, it does not produce the points correctly as compared to other software)
