Elevation profile improvements #49195

Feature description

Thank you for incorporating the profiles into the core of the application. Fantastic. I would like to propose the following improvements:

  1. Possibility to export to DXF in cordenates (2D & 3D) as the terrain profile pluging do.
  2. Possibility to fix x and y values in the profile.
  3. Possibility to limit the "depth" of the surface. For example adding the possibility to write a lower limit to represent the surface.
  4. Possibility to add authomatic / manual labels (name of the layer and name of the elements in the layer like points, poligons, etc.)
  5. Possibility to save the current profile (layers actived in the profile) as a template. When you have lots of layers included in the profile its easy to forget some of them.
  6. Posibility to include a legend. Maybe a filter of the active layers in the profile could be enought.
  7. Very important: Possibility to include profiles in the print composer. This option would allow to automatically generate a collection of profiles following a coverage layer (example, a cross section every 50 m in a road or river). Thanks Captura de pantalla 2022-06-29 154109

It would be better to open new ticket for each feature. For context, we might run a new crowdfunding to cover most of those features. See: https://www.lutraconsulting.co.uk/crowdfunding/elevation-pointcloud-enhancements-qgis/

@cesarcorreo - I was about to say the same as @saberraz - such kind of "monster" feature requests are typically just ignored.

If you could split it up into individual feature requests, this would help.

Your points are valid and useful. But each of your requests should be a separate ticket - and then you should typically also add more information (e.g. how each of the new features should work - in more detail).

Thanks both of you, I'll split the feature request in the following days with the aim to have a powerfull profile tool. best

@cesarcorreo I am emailing you and we will work through this to separate them out.
